CAVE / Warm Digits / Onoma / DJs and dancing till late

Tempo Tempo and the Star & Shadow present a night of proper psyched-out, motorik energy. A late night party with Cave, Warm Digits, Onoma, and DJs Phippertronische (Road to Rimini) and Oscar (A Little Lost) playing more unusual choices than you’d normally get from them.

Cave (http://www.myspace.com/realreelpro), signed to Drag City, come all the way from Chicago and play the perfect combination of droney, beat-driven, motorik Krautrock, blended with the right measure of light-hearted psychedelic electronica and Can-like free-form jams that just keeps building up and up. Key words that spring to mind are momentum, repetition and climax.

They’ll be preceded on the stage by Newcastle’s legendary Warm Digits who describe themselves as “full sensory engagement from the krautophonic blizzard-wave duo of Andrew Hodson and Steve Jefferis”,(http://www.myspace.com/warmdigits), and, in keeping with the night’s mood, Onoma (http://www.myspace.com/geometryoftorchsongs) whose music creates lengthy and wide-scoped pieces based on the repetition of short themes, merging vintage keyboard sounds with percussive guitars and effects.

And to finish the relentless pace of the night we’ll have DJs from Road to Rimini and A Little Lost, two great electronic disco and classic disco nights, playing an eclectic selection of dance tunes to keep you going till very late.

Tickets are £6 on the door or advance tickets are available from www.wegottickets.com
