Mariner 9 is a giant video art installation being presented in Whitley Bay’s Edwardian pleasuredome, the Spanish City. Created by internationally acclaimed artist Kelly Richardson, Mariner 9 is a spectacular twelve metre-long panorama of Mars set hundreds of years in the future, battered by dust storms and littered with the debris of our missions to unlock the secrets of the Red Planet. The installation has been commissioned by the Tyneside Cinema via its digital arts programme Pixel Palace.
Warm Digits are super-excited to be playing a one-off performance in the installation itself. We’ll be wheeling out our finest radiophonics and creating an all-new improvised set to match the intergalactic flavour of the installation, and you won’t hear this music at any of our other shows.
Saturday 11 August, 8.30pm-10.30pm (performance starts at 9pm)
Tickets are £5, available online here or by calling the Tyneside Cinema Box Office on 0845 217 9909.
